Synopsis
The Changeling (2023), Season 1 is Apple TV+'s dark urban fairy tale you can watch online on iFILM — eight episodes that start as a love story and curdle into something far stranger. Apollo, a Queens rare-book dealer, marries Virginia librarian Emma and becomes a father. Then it all falls apart.
This first season moves from quiet domestic life into folk horror one careful step at a time. Emma starts receiving photos that vanish before she can show anyone, stops sleeping, and eventually does the unthinkable. From there the show stops being a marriage drama: Apollo travels through a New York he never knew existed — forgotten East River islands, washerwomen with warnings, things in the woods, and a man hiding behind the handle Kinder Garten. Each episode peels back a layer and finds another underneath.
