Trese (2021), Season 1 is the Netflix animated crime mystery to watch online on iFILM — six episodes set in a Manila where the police don't call forensics, they call Alexandra Trese.
A dead ghost. Train passengers who never reach their stop. That first case drags Trese to an aswang clan down by the pier and a city official on someone's payroll. Each episode then raises the stakes: a blood ritual fueled by revenge, zombies battering a police station, a string of bombings that aren't random. Someone has been pulling strings the whole time. Running under all of it is Trese's own thread — her father, the cases he left open, and a prophecy she keeps trying to outrun.
Adapted from the Filipino comics by Budjette Tan and Kajo Baltazar, the show leans on local folklore instead of the usual vampires and werewolves. Six episodes, tight and grim, no slow build. Stream Trese Season 1 online on iFILM.
