Synopsis
The White Queen (2013) is a BBC One historical drama you can watch online on iFILM — ten episodes adapted from Philippa Gregory's trilogy, set during the fiercest years of England's Wars of the Roses. The series opens in 1464 as the newly crowned Edward IV secretly marries Elizabeth Woodville, a widow from the enemy Lancastrian camp, igniting a new round of court intrigue.
Three women drive the story: Elizabeth (Rebecca Ferguson) tries to hold her position as queen while factions sharpen their knives around her. Margaret Beaufort (Amanda Hale) spends decades quietly engineering her son Henry Tudor's path to the throne — cold, devout, relentless. Anne Neville (Faye Marsay) is born into one dynasty and bartered into another. The men fight the wars; these women fight everything else.
Ferguson delivered this performance before Mission: Impossible made her a household name, which makes it worth seeking out. Stream all episodes of The White Queen on iFILM.
