Jenna is hiding something personal that makes the idea of Muffy's slumber party terrifying. Prunella has to figure out what friendship with her blind classmate Marina actually looks like — not just hovering nearby, but treating her like anyone else. Buster returns from an Amish field trip convinced that electricity is a luxury he can live without. The whole class stages a musical for Elwood City's hundredth anniversary. Then comes "April 9th" — the season's last episode — in which a fire closes Lakewood Elementary mid-day and the usual tidy wrap-up never comes. It's the episode that doesn't let go.
