Partnering with a young woman named Laetitia — who has her own reasons for wanting the diary — Lupin and his crew race across two continents with both the law and something far worse on their tail.

Yamazaki moved the classic Monkey Punch franchise into CG animation and landed it better than expected. The character designs keep the rubber-limbed energy of the original 1970s series, the pacing runs like a good heist film, and the cold-war-era stakes give the story more weight than a typical chase-the-MacGuffin setup. At 93 minutes it never lingers.
