Richard Gaddis is good at separating people from their money, and he needs a fresh face beside him. Enter Rodrigo, a young hustler with an unreadable poker stare who desperately needs cash for his sick father. The job: pass a forged currency note to a wealthy collector. The payoff looks easy. But Rodrigo doesn't trust his teacher, and when Gaddis's sister steps into the picture, every assumption gets reshuffled. Who is conning whom stays an open question right up to the last minute.

John C. Reilly and Diego Luna run this two-hander like a chess match, with Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Mullan rounding out the board. Director Gregory Jacobs keeps it lean at 87 minutes, remaking the Argentine hit Nine Queens with Steven Soderbergh producing. A treat for anyone who likes being played alongside the characters.
