Synopsis
12 Monkeys (2015) is a Syfy sci-fi drama — watch online on iFILM, all four seasons. Inspired by Terry Gilliam's 1995 film, the show expands far beyond that source into a tightly engineered story about time loops, cause and effect, and the cost of trying to fix the unfixable.
Aaron Stanford plays James Cole, a convict pulled out of a 2043 where a plague has reduced humanity to scattered survivors underground. Scientist Katarina Jones (Barbara Sukowa) has built a machine that sends him back — not to watch, but to intervene. In the present, virologist Cassandra Railly (Amanda Schull) is his reluctant anchor; Emily Hampshire's Jennifer Goines keeps even Cole guessing. The show's best trick: every season resets what the audience thinks the rules are.
