Synopsis
Watch Unsung Hero (2024) online — a faith-based family drama co-directed by Richard Ramsey and Joel Smallbone, drawn from the true story of the Smallbone family's move from Australia to Nashville. David Smallbone's music company folds, and with nothing left he packs his pregnant wife Helen and six children onto a plane and bets everything on a fresh start in the US.
America is less welcoming than expected. The family lands in cheap rentals, picks up whatever work is available, and holds together almost entirely through Helen's steady conviction when David's optimism keeps running dry. Daisy Betts plays Helen; Jonathan Jackson, Candace Cameron Bure, and Terry O'Quinn appear in supporting roles. Joel Smallbone — one half of Christian duo For King & Country — plays his own father and co-directed the picture, which gives it an intimacy most biopics can't manufacture.
