That sends the two of them on an unwilling road trip, dodging a corrupt guard, the police, and an overbearing mother played by Glenn Close who seems equally capable of helping and derailing everything. Brendan Fraser turns up in a supporting role that fits the film's tone perfectly. Nobody in this family is operating in good faith, which is exactly what makes the dynamic work.
