Synopsis
Surveillance (2008) is an American thriller you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Jennifer Lynch and starring Julia Ormond and Bill Pullman. Two FBI agents drive to a remote sheriff's station to question the only survivors of a serial killer's latest stretch of highway violence. There are three of them, sitting in separate rooms, and none of their stories match.
A local cop played by Michael Ironside, a teenage girl, and a woman with a very thin account of herself all take turns in the interrogation chair. The agents — Ormond, calm and precise, and Pullman, harder to read — move between rooms and let the contradictions pile up. Lynch builds the whole film on the gap between what people say and what actually happened, and she withholds the key until she is ready to use it.
Jennifer Lynch, David Lynch's daughter, made this as a genre exercise that refuses to behave like one. The ending does not play fair — deliberately. Stream Surveillance online on iFILM.
