Season 1
All magic comes at a cost.
Synopsis
The Magicians (2015), Season 1 — 13-episode SyFy fantasy drama, watch all episodes online on iFILM. Quentin Coldwater grew up reading about Fillory and half-believed every page. Brakebills University confirms the fantasy is real, and immediately shows him how wrong his version of it was.
First year moves fast: students get sorted into disciplines, survive trials designed to expel the unprepared, and ship to Antarctica for Mayakovsky's uncompromising advanced course. A creature called The Beast starts materializing on campus — composed, untouchable, and curious about Brakebills in a way that reads as a threat. While Quentin's group inches toward a confrontation in Fillory, his friend Julia, turned away at Brakebills' door, carves her own path through underground hedge witches — faster results, darker price.
Adapted from Lev Grossman's trilogy by Sera Gamble and John McNamara, the series treats magic the way adult disappointment treats childhood expectations: real, significant, and considerably messier than advertised. Watch The Magicians Season 1 online on iFILM.
