Three judges decide their fate: Gordon Ramsay at his sharpest, restaurateur Joe Bastianich, and chef Graham Elliot. It opens wide with auditions, narrows to a Top 14, and then thins out week by week. The cooks are asked to nail a single cupcake, cater a full upscale wedding, crack open the Mystery Box, and survive an Invention Test before the field shrinks to the last few. The finale crowns America's very first MasterChef.
