Synopsis
Black Butler (2008), Season 5 is a gothic detective anime you can watch online on iFILM — thirteen episodes that pull Ciel and Sebastian out of London entirely. The Queen sends them to a remote German village where deaths keep piling up for no reason anyone will explain.
The locals blame a curse on the werewolf woods. Behind the trees sit the Emerald Castle, a young witch named Sullivan, and her guardian Wolfram, who would rather the visitors left. Crossing into the forest costs the butler and his master something real, and before long Sebastian is serving a different mistress entirely. Episode by episode the mystery shifts from monsters and spells toward someone who badly wants the castle's secret kept buried.
This run adapts the Green Witch arc from Yana Toboso's manga, and it is the bleakest, most war-torn turn the series has taken — fewer drawing-room jokes, more gunpowder and loss.
