Old Dads

Old Dads (2023) is Bill Burr's comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Three middle-aged buddies sell their throwback sports apparel company to a millennial CEO and discover, fast, that the world moved on without asking them.

Jack, Connor and Mike are guys past fifty who say exactly what they think, which keeps backfiring in a culture that no longer rewards it. One minute a preschool principal is lecturing Jack about boundaries, the next a smug young boss is dragging them through mindfulness seminars. Burr directs and stars as Jack, a short-fused father trying to soften up and blowing it again and again. Bobby Cannavale and Bokeem Woodbine play his fellow dinosaurs, with Bruce Dern and Natasha Leggero turning up along the way.

This is Burr's first feature behind the camera, and it plays like his stand-up stretched to ninety minutes: blunt, profane jokes about the generation gap, late parenthood and the fear of becoming obsolete.
