Synopsis
Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical (2022) is a fantasy musical you can watch online on iFILM. Matilda Wormwood devours books, does sums faster than any grown-up, and lives with parents who would rather she vanished. She also has a secret gift she hasn't figured out yet.
At Crunchem Hall she runs into Miss Trunchbull, a former hammer-throwing champion who treats children like projectiles to be hurled over a fence. Emma Thompson disappears under prosthetics to play her as a gleeful grotesque. On Matilda's side are the gentle Miss Honey, played by Lashana Lynch, and the girl's own stubborn conviction that unfairness is meant to be broken, not endured. Director Matthew Warchus adapted his own Royal Shakespeare Company stage hit, and the schoolyard-revolt numbers land with real scale.
