Synopsis
How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift? (2019), Season 1 is an anime comedy you can watch online on iFILM — twelve episodes about a girl, a gym, and a lot of protein.
Food-loving high schooler Hibiki Sakura panics about her weight and signs up at Silverman Gym, where the regulars are walls of muscle and the trainer, Machio, is distractingly handsome. She falls in with a small crew: straight-A student and secret gym fanatic Akemi, her friend Ayaka, even a teacher hiding the same hobby. The season rolls through an arm-wrestling bout with a Russian rival, an idol contest, Christmas, New Year and a beach trip to close it out. Between the gags it actually teaches you how squats, deadlifts and protein work.
