Synopsis
Walk on the Wild Side (1962) — watch online on iFILM — is an American drama directed by Edward Dmytryk, based on Nelson Algren's 1956 novel, with Laurence Harvey, Capucine, Barbara Stanwyck, Jane Fonda, and Anne Baxter.
New Orleans, the Depression years. Dove Linkhorn rides south to find Hallie, the woman he hasn't heard from in three years. He finds her at the Doll House — a high-end brothel run by Josephine, known as Jo, a madam who does not think of Hallie as merely an employee. Dove wants to take Hallie away. Jo has no intention of letting either of them leave.
Saul Bass designed the opening title sequence — a black cat prowling through urban textures over a jazz score, still one of the most imitated credit sequences in American film. Stanwyck plays Jo with complete conviction and no sentiment, and Fonda appears in one of her earliest film roles. Stream Walk on the Wild Side (1962) on iFILM.
