Synopsis
The Big Door Prize (2023), Season 1 is an Apple TV+ comedy you can watch online on iFILM — ten episodes set in the sleepy town of Deerfield, where a small machine starts printing cards that claim to name your true life potential.
It begins with Dusty Hubbard, a high-school teacher easing toward forty. The Morpho machine looks like a novelty at first. Then the town tips over: people quit jobs, rewrite their plans, and poke at marriages they thought were settled. Each episode takes a character's name — Cass, Jacob, Father Reuben, Trina — and circles the same week from a different chair. The longer it runs, the less it's about who you could have been and the more it's about whether you like who you are.
Adapted from M.O. Walsh's novel, the show stays gentle and a little odd, with no villains and a Schitt's Creek kind of warmth. By the finale the Morpho hands out one more mystery. Watch The Big Door Prize Season 1 online on iFILM.
