Here on Earth

Here on Earth (2000) is an American romantic drama directed by Mark Piznarski — watch online on iFILM with Leelee Sobieski, Chris Klein, and Josh Hartnett. A drag race between a wealthy student and a working-class local ends with a destroyed roadside diner and a judge's order: both spend the summer rebuilding what they wrecked. Jasper loses Samantha to Kelley and has to watch it happen from the next room all summer. Sobieski holds the triangle together with real feeling. Hartnett's Jasper — guarded, quietly furious — turns out to be more interesting than the romantic lead the script assigns to Klein. The setting is the kind of small town where everyone already knows the ending before it happens.
