Synopsis
Boundaries (2018) is a road-trip comedy-drama you can watch online on iFILM, written and directed by Shana Feste. Vera Farmiga plays Laura, a single mother forced to drive her estranged father Jack across the country after he gets kicked out of a nursing home for selling weed to the residents. Christopher Plummer plays Jack.
Her 14-year-old son Henry rides along, sketchbook in hand, drawing everyone he meets in the nude. He bonds with his grandfather almost immediately. The road pulls in a run of Jack's old associates — Peter Fonda, Christopher Lloyd — plus an ex-boyfriend of Laura's (Bobby Cannavale), and more family history than she was prepared to revisit. Feste drew on her own background writing the script.
Plummer is the engine of the whole film. A charming, unreliable man you genuinely cannot look away from. He and Farmiga play something precise: the particular exhaustion of a daughter who loves her father and cannot stand him. Stream Boundaries (2018) online on iFILM.
