Synopsis

Big Time Adolescence (2020) is a coming-of-age comedy-drama directed by Jason Orley — watch it online on iFILM. Sixteen-year-old Mo (Griffin Gluck) is a decent kid from a decent family. His best friend Zeke (Pete Davidson) is a 24-year-old college dropout with a lot of charm, no ambition, and a casual side business selling drugs to high schoolers. Mo's dad (Jon Cryer) sees exactly where this is headed. Mo does not.

What makes the film work is that Zeke is never a villain. He genuinely likes Mo. He just lacks any working model of consequence, and Mo is young enough to find that appealing. Sydney Sweeney appears as a college student who briefly, helpfully, complicates things. The screenplay keeps the whole situation honest — no easy lessons, no clean resolution.

Davidson is quietly excellent here, playing a guy who's funny and likeable and slowly running out of excuses. This is one of those small films that rewards the patience to sit with it. Stream Big Time Adolescence (2020) on iFILM.
