Synopsis

Family fractures first. Rollo takes up arms for Jarl Borg, forcing his brother across a battlefield. While Ragnar and King Horik campaign in Wessex against the calculating King Ecbert, Borg marches on Kattegat and holds it — leaving Ragnar and a teenage Bjorn to take it back by force. Episode eight delivers a surprise: a son is born with twisted legs. Against every Norse custom, the boy lives. His name is Ivar. King Horik keeps smiling at Ragnar throughout.
