Too Late

Too Late (2016) is Dennis Hauck's noir crime drama, available to watch online on iFILM. Private eye Mel Sampson takes a job tracking down a vanished woman from his own past, and the deeper he digs, the more the case turns into a portrait of the man chasing it.

John Hawkes anchors the film as a detective whose life is unraveling faster than the investigation moves. Around him stand Robert Forster, Joanna Cassidy, Jeff Fahey and Crystal Reed. The story drifts from the scorched lots of Radio Hill to Beverly Hills penthouses, and Los Angeles itself feels less like a backdrop than the prime suspect. Hauck shot the whole thing as five unbroken twenty-minute takes on 35mm film, each chapter playing out in a single continuous shot.
