Synopsis
The Wicker Tree (2011) is a British folk horror you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Robin Hardy — the same filmmaker behind the 1973 cult original The Wicker Man. This time the outsiders aren't detectives: they're Beth, a Texas gospel singer, and her cowboy boyfriend Steve, going door-to-door through rural Scotland with pamphlets.
The community of Tressock, presided over by Sir Lachlan Morrison, welcomes them in a way that should feel wrong. It doesn't — not to them. Graham McTavish, Christopher Lee, and Honeysuckle Weeks round out a cast that sells the ritual warmth until it sours.
