The last honest cop in Los Angeles, Arthur Bailey, gets press-ganged into the race and paired with Grace — a lethal driver with personal stakes that go beyond any prize money. Her missing sister is somewhere out in the wasteland, and she intends to find her. Thirteen race legs take them through a cannibal roadside diner, a city that belongs to the night, a mental asylum with buried secrets, Amazon territory, and several towns quietly owned by Heart Enterprises, the corporation that runs the whole show.
