Synopsis
Last Samurai Standing (2025), Season 1 — watch online on iFILM. Six episodes of Japanese period action set in the early Meiji era, built around a survival game where only one fighter walks away.
The age of the sword is over, and Shujiro — once an undefeated samurai — can no longer feed his sick family. For the prize money he enters Kodoku, a deadly tournament: hundreds of warriors, one route, a single survivor. Pushing from checkpoint to checkpoint, he strikes an uneasy alliance with Kyojin, a former ninja, shields a young woman named Futaba, and slowly works out who designed the slaughter and why. The season turns from raw survival into a conspiracy that reaches the top of the new government, with old debts surfacing along the way — including a comrade from Satsuma he never expected to face.
Junichi Okada both stars and choreographs the fights, which gives the swordplay a brutal, hands-on weight. The finale pits Shujiro against Bukotsu as the authorities close in on the mastermind. Stream Last Samurai Standing Season 1 online on iFILM.
