Synopsis

Frozen Planet (2011), Season 1 is a BBC documentary you can watch online on iFILM — seven episodes narrated by David Attenborough across both poles.

The season runs like a single polar year. It opens with a survey of the Arctic and Antarctic, then walks through spring as the sun comes back, a frantic summer crammed with breeding and feeding, autumn's big freeze, and a winter most animals flee. Two closing chapters turn to people: why humans have kept returning to the ends of the earth, and what scientists now read in the shrinking ice. Every stretch hangs on specific animals and how they get through it.

Years in the making, it caught behaviour no camera had filmed before. If Planet Earth pulled you in, this one sits closer and colder. Stream Frozen Planet Season 1 online on iFILM.
