Synopsis

Three lives carry it. Pierre stumbles into a fortune and a loveless marriage, Andrei chases glory on the battlefield and comes back from Austerlitz a changed man, and young Natasha Rostova falls in love for the first time — then pays for it. Around them, ballrooms give way to artillery as Napoleon's army crosses into Russia, and Borodino and the burning of Moscow end the world they knew.
