Synopsis
UFO (1970) — watch online on iFILM — is the British sci-fi series from Gerry Anderson, creator of Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet, and his first fully live-action production.
The year, in the show's world, is 1980. An alien species has been harvesting humans for biological parts. The only organisation that knows — and fights back — is SHADO: Supreme Headquarters Alien Defence Organization. Its commander, Straker (Ed Bishop), runs the operation from behind a film studio cover while managing lunar interceptors, underwater submarines and a moonbase crew.
Anderson shot it for ITV in 1969–70, and what makes it hold up is the procedural weight: SHADO doesn't always win. Interceptions fail. People disappear. The near-future technology feels plausible rather than fantastical. Stream all episodes of UFO online on iFILM.
