Dark Skies (Season 1)
History as we know it is a lie.
Synopsis
Dark Skies (1996) — watch online on iFILM the NBC sci-fi series built around one audacious premise: history as we know it is a lie. Created by Bryce Zabel and Brent Friedman, the show follows agent John Loengard as he discovers that the U.S. government has known about alien visitors for decades — and that those visitors are no longer content to wait.
Across 18 episodes and a two-hour pilot, the series rewrites the second half of the twentieth century: the Kennedy assassination, the counterculture movement, the Apollo program — all reframed as cover for extraterrestrial activity. Eric Close and Megan Ward play the couple caught at the centre of it, J.T. Walsh brings institutional menace to the government side, and Jeri Ryan delivers one of the series' strongest performances.
NBC launched it in September 1996, riding the wave of X-Files' success on Fox. The show lasted one season but found a loyal second audience in syndication on the Sci-Fi Channel — still some of the sharpest conspiracy television the decade produced. Stream every episode of Dark Skies (1996) online on iFILM.
