Synopsis
They Call Me Trinity (Lo chiamavano Trinità, 1970) is the Italian western comedy directed by Enzo Barboni that turned Terence Hill and Bud Spencer into household names — watch online on iFILM. Hill plays Trinity, alias "the Right Hand of the Devil," a drifting gunslinger who arrives in a small town to find his half-brother Bambino (Bud Spencer) impersonating the local sheriff after breaking the real one's leg.
Bambino is lying low. Trinity immediately makes that impossible. A community of peace-loving Mormons asks the brothers for protection against a land-grabbing rancher named Major Harriman and his hired muscle. The plot is thin by design — Barboni wanted a setup for brawls, not a script. Trinity fires faster than he thinks and spends half the film distracted by two women from the Mormon settlement; Bambino growls through every scene and throws men through walls for reasons that barely need explaining.
The punches here sound like cannon fire and the bad guys fly like bowling pins — that's the joke, repeated with escalating commitment until the final reel. Hill and Spencer generated a screen chemistry that launched a franchise spanning the next two decades. One of the biggest box-office hits Italian cinema produced in the 1970s, and it still holds up as pure entertainment. Stream They Call Me Trinity (1970) online on iFILM.
