Synopsis
Based on a True Story (2023), Season 1 — eight episodes to watch online on iFILM. A serial killer is loose in Los Angeles. Ava the realtor and her ex-tennis-star husband Nathan are sinking under debt and a marriage that's running out of spark.
Their plan: launch a true crime podcast around the active case before someone else gets there first. The wrinkle — the plumber Matt, who shows up knowing exactly what angle would make him compelling. Once the podcast's subject becomes a willing co-conspirator with leverage over the hosts, Ava and Nathan spend all eight episodes scrambling to stay ahead of a situation that keeps growing past their control. Dark, funny, and increasingly uneasy as the gap between bad idea and real catastrophe narrows.
