Synopsis
Broad City (2014), Season 1 is the Comedy Central comedy you can watch online on iFILM — ten episodes that drop you straight into the broke, chaotic New York of Abbi and Ilana. Two friends, no money, zero shame.
It opens with a scheme: scraping together cash for a Lil Wayne concert by any means necessary. After that the season just rolls — Ilana attempting adult things like her own taxes, a botched run at holding down two jobs at once, both women locked out of their apartments hours before Abbi's gallery debut, and a citywide hunt for a stolen phone that drags them through every neighborhood they hate. It ends at a fancy dinner for Abbi's 26th birthday that goes wrong in spectacular fashion. Plot is barely the point. The chemistry is.
The show grew out of a web series the two made on YouTube, which caught Amy Poehler's eye and landed it a producer and a network. Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer basically play themselves, loud and unfiltered. Stream Broad City Season 1 online on iFILM.
