Synopsis

Willie renames him ALF — Alien Life Form — and spends the rest of the season trying to keep the neighbors from finding out. The Ochmoneks next door are perpetually suspicious; Lucky the cat keeps vanishing; and ALF racks up a four-thousand-dollar cosmetics bill without leaving the house. He calls the president about nuclear weapons, befriends a blind girl named Jodi, nearly arranges a trip back to Melmac, and hits his head hard enough to spend two episodes convinced he's an insurance salesman named Wayne.

Gordon Shumway, last known survivor from the planet Melmac, crash-lands his spaceship into the Tanner family's suburban garage. Willie dubs him "ALF", short for Alien Life Form. After convincing a military officer that they are not harboring a space creature, the Tanners decide to take ALF in as a member of the family.
