Synopsis
Prince Valiant (1997) is an adventure fantasy based on Hal Foster's comic strip — watch it online on iFILM. While King Arthur's court is occupied with a tournament, a Viking force slips into Camelot and makes off with Excalibur. The Black Knight is behind it.
Young squire Valiant, in his lord's armor, rides out to recover the sword. Katherine Heigl plays Princess Ilene, who joins the quest not as a passenger but because she can fight. Stephen Moyer leads the chase; the villains include Udo Kier and Ron Perlman, and Joanna Lumley plays Morgana with obvious relish. Director Anthony Hickox works from a clean blueprint — honor code, stolen sword, cross-country chase — and delivers on it without asking more of the material.
