Bocchi the Rock! (2022), Season 1 is the Japanese music comedy you can watch online on iFILM — 12 episodes about a girl who spent years mastering the guitar alone and then somehow lands in an actual band.
Hitori Gotoh practices under a blanket and dreams of a stage, yet one glance from a classmate freezes her solid. Drummer Nijika drags her into a group called Kessoku Band, and from there the season is built out of tiny acts of bravery: taking a part-time job at the Starry live house, recruiting a vocalist named Kita, squeezing out the lyrics to a first song, hitting a ticket quota, and not fleeing her own gig. Each episode is one small step outside her shell, told through Bocchi's absurd daydreams and meltdowns. The run ends at the school culture festival, where her guitar picks the worst possible moment to act up.
