Autumn 1939. Ten strangers travel to a clifftop mansion on a Devon island at the invitation of the absent Mr. and Mrs. U.N. Owen. The surviving eight now know that someone among them is the executioner, the island is cut off by weather, and a nursery rhyme called "Ten Little Soldier Boys" — hung in every room of the house — is the only schedule that matters.
