Synopsis

After nine-year-old Alice Hart survives a fire that kills her parents, her estranged grandmother June takes her to Thornfield — a remote flower farm that functions as a refuge for women running from violence. The women here communicate through flowers: each plant carries a meaning that spoken words cannot reach. June tells Alice her mother Agnes was never truly part of the family. What is actually buried underneath takes longer to surface than Alice can imagine as a child.
At twenty-four, she uncovers the depth of June's concealment and leaves — rebuilding in a desert town called Agnes Bluff, where she meets someone who finally feels safe to trust with everything. Sigourney Weaver plays June as a figure impossible to place cleanly: not villain, not victim, but a woman who loves in the only way she knows.
