TV-PGSeason 3
A comedy about a little kid who dreamed big.
Synopsis
Young Rock (2022), Season 3 — the final run of the NBC comedy, thirteen episodes you can watch online on iFILM. The frame has flipped: the 2032 election is lost, and now, in 2033, the retired candidate looks back not at his childhood but at how the persona of "The Rock" was actually born.
Miami, 1997, carries the spine of it. An injury, a gamble of a heel turn, real nerve on the mic — Dwayne finally drags his own personality into the ring and the crowd bites. From there it's SummerSlam, a first part on television, and the trap of typecasting: every offer wants the wrestler and nothing else. By 1999 the career is tilting toward Hollywood, and in Florida, 2000, he makes good on an old promise to his family. Running alongside is Hawaii, 1985 to 1986, where Ata and Rocky build a promotion to rival Lia's and the season works toward a tribute to his grandfather, Peter Maivia. Bethlehem, 1988, tucks in a night a father and his teenage son spend locked inside a restaurant.
Showrunner Nahnatchka Khan ends the series right at the threshold of fame — football and the ring behind him, the movies just ahead. Season three goes softer on the nostalgia and heavier on WWF backstage lore. Stream Young Rock Season 3 online on iFILM.
