Synopsis
El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera (2007) is a Nickelodeon animated series you can watch online on iFILM. Thirteen-year-old Manny Rivera lives in the fictional Miracle City — where his father is the superhero White Panther and his grandfather is the supervillain Puma Loco.
Manny's magic belt transforms him into El Tigre, claws and enhanced strength included. The catch is that he genuinely hasn't made up his mind about being good or evil. Being heroic is admirable; villainy is considerably more entertaining. That unresolved moral question drives each episode — not in a heavy-handed way, but through short, punchy installments that approach the dilemma from a different angle each time. Directors Gabe Swarr and Dave Thomas leaned into a vivid Mexican folk-art aesthetic that set it apart from anything else on the network at the time.
