Synopsis
DeepStar Six (1989) is a deep-sea horror you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Friday the 13th's Sean S. Cunningham. The U.S. Navy funds an experimental underwater base for secret missile deployment — and no one stops to ask what might already be living at that depth.
During excavation, the crew blasts open an ancient underwater cavern. What emerges is not remotely interested in diplomacy. With thirty-five atmospheres of pressure separating them from the surface, the station becomes a sealed coffin. Greg Evigan, Nancy Everhard, and Miguel Ferrer lead the cast — Ferrer's fraying technician is the film's best argument that the real threat is the person standing next to you.
Released in January 1989, DeepStar Six hit cinemas alongside both The Abyss and Leviathan — a strange month for underwater genre films. Where Cameron spent $70 million, Cunningham kept his crew in tight metal corridors and let the claustrophobia do the heavy lifting. A solid time capsule of late-'80s creature horror made on nerve and ingenuity rather than scale. Stream DeepStar Six (1989) online on iFILM.
