Synopsis

Modern Love (2019), Season 1 is Amazon's anthology you can watch online on iFILM — eight episodes, each a self-contained story drawn from the long-running New York Times column about real people and real feeling.

There's no through-line, and that's the point. A lonely woman leans on the doorman who has tracked her love life for years. A reporter interviews a celebrity and ends up confessing his own. A young woman with bipolar disorder struggles to let anyone see who she actually is. A first date detours to the emergency room; an adoption stretches on with no guarantees; a couple in their eighties takes stock of a long marriage near the finish line. Dev Patel, Anne Hathaway, Tina Fey, Andrew Scott, Julia Garner — every chapter brings a new face and a different register.

Eight short films arguing that love rarely arrives the way the movies promise. Some chapters land harder than others, the way anthologies go, but the best ones cut clean. Stream Modern Love Season 1 online on iFILM.
