Synopsis
Down to You (2000) is a New York college rom-com directed by Kris Isacsson — watch it online on iFILM. Al, the son of a celebrity TV chef, meets art student Imogen at a bar one night, and both of them know almost immediately that this is more than a fling. Freddie Prinze Jr. and Julia Stiles play it straight and warm, which is most of what the film has going for it.
The supporting cast fills in the edges: Ashton Kutcher as Al's relentlessly immature friend, Selma Blair as the best friend with zero filter, and Rosario Dawson as a complication neither of them needed. The script leans on direct-address narration and a lot of New York mid-winter atmosphere.
