Synopsis
Full Contact (1992) is Ringo Lam's Hong Kong action thriller, ready to watch online on iFILM. In the heat of Bangkok's underworld, bouncer Jeff takes on a friend's debt and lands in the crosshairs of the local mob.
To pull his pal Sam out of trouble, Jeff (Chow Yun-fat) signs on for a weapons heist run by Judge, a preening psychopath played by Simon Yam at his sleaziest. The job collapses into betrayal, and Jeff comes back with one thing on his mind: revenge. Lam shoots the gunfights as something you almost feel — the bullets practically punch through the frame.
This is meaner and sweatier than John Woo's heroic-bloodshed style, with none of the romance and all of the grime. Chow carries whole scenes on a single cold stare, while Anthony Wong shows up to make everything worse. For anyone who loves early-'90s Hong Kong action, it's essential viewing.
