Synopsis
"Christmas Cottage" (2008) is a family drama directed by Michael Campus — watch it online on iFILM. Jared Padalecki plays a young Thomas Kinkade, the artist who would go on to become one of the most widely reproduced painters in American history.
Home for the holidays, Kinkade learns his mother (Marcia Gay Harden) is on the verge of losing the family house to debt. Peter O'Toole plays Glenn, the elderly mentor whose early encouragement first set Kinkade on his path. The solution that takes shape — painting a large mural on the cottage wall to draw donations from the surrounding community — gives the film its quiet, unhurried rhythm. Ed Asner and Chris Elliott round out the neighbourhood cast.
