The Wrecking Crew
There was one band behind them all...
Synopsis
The Wrecking Crew (2008) is a music documentary to watch online on iFILM. Director Denny Tedesco spent years making it as a tribute to his father, guitarist Tommy Tedesco, and a loose collective of Los Angeles studio players who performed on most of the biggest pop records of the 1960s without ever getting credit.
They had no names on album covers. Hal Blaine played drums on The Beach Boys, Frank Sinatra, and The Mamas & the Papas. Carol Kaye held down the bass. Glen Campbell passed through those sessions years before going solo. The film gathers the musicians themselves — alongside Cher, Nancy Sinatra, Dick Clark, and Micky Dolenz — to piece together just how much of a decade's pop sound came from the same small circle.
