David Lamb is somewhere in the debris of a marriage that fell apart and a father who just died. At a parking lot, he meets Tommie — an awkward, friendless eleven-year-old nobody seems to bother with. Convinced he can rescue her from the same apathy that's closing in on him, he takes her on a road trip from Chicago to the Rocky Mountain wilderness without telling anyone. Oona Laurence plays Tommie with an unsettling precision; Scoot McNairy and Jess Weixler round out the cast in smaller but well-placed roles.
