Synopsis
Cold Prey III (Fritt vilt III, 2010) is a Norwegian slasher you can watch online in good quality. It's the trilogy's prequel, winding the clock back to 1988, when the icepick killer of the mountain hotel was only starting his hunt. Mikkel Brænne Sandemose directs.
A group of teenagers heads out to an abandoned hotel in the mountains and ends up as prey. On their trail is a silent brute who treats every trespasser on his ground as game. From there it runs on genre rails: snow, woods, a chase and a blade around every corner — with no margin for a wrong move.
If you've seen the first two films, the draw here is watching where it all began. The Norwegians keep it lean and mean: little chatter, freezing real locations instead of soundstages, no winking at the genre. Ninety-seven minutes for fans of a straight-faced winter horror.
