Synopsis

Ragnarok (Gåten Ragnarok, 2013) is a Norwegian action-adventure directed by Mikkel Brænne Sandemose that you can watch online on iFILM. Tagline: "All myths have an origin." Archaeologist Sigurd Svendsen, played by Pål Sverre Hagen, has spent years fixated on a runic inscription found on the Oseberg ship — eight words that translate roughly to "man knows little."

When a matching set of runes turns up on a stone in northern Norway, Sigurd reads them as a map. He heads into the "No Man's Land" between Norway and Russia — a stretch of wilderness kept empty for decades — taking his two children and a colleague, Nicolai Cleve Broch, along for the expedition. What they find there predates the Norse myths it eventually inspired: something that made the concept of Ragnarök feel like an understatement to whoever first encountered it.

The film delivers solid creature-feature thrills with the added weight of actual Norse mythology woven into the plot rather than just the title. Good for fans of old-school adventure with real location shooting and genuine stakes. Stream Ragnarok (2013) online on iFILM.
