Synopsis
Swinging Safari (2018) — watch online on iFILM. Australian writer-director Stephan Elliott (The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert) returns with a period comedy-drama set in suburban Australia in 1975, when a 200-ton blue whale washes ashore and gives the local kids the wildest summer of their lives.
Fourteen-year-old Jeff is navigating first love while the world reshapes itself around him. Next door, his parents and their neighbors have discovered the sexual revolution — and their key party is not going as planned. Guy Pearce, Kylie Minogue, Radha Mitchell, and Julian McMahon play the adults; Jacob Elordi gets one of his earliest screen roles as a teenage antagonist.
Elliott pitches the tone between warm nostalgia and mild embarrassment, which is exactly right for a film about people making choices they'll quietly downplay for decades. Funny in places, surprisingly melancholy by the end. Stream Swinging Safari (2018) on iFILM.
